How to drive sustainable mobility through the private sector in the Global South – A case for South Africa
June 1 2021 // MONTREAL: 11:00 AM to 12:15 AM // PARIS: 5:00 PM to 6:15 PM // SINGAPORE: 11:00 PM to 12:15 PM
The Sustainable Mobility for All (SuM4All) partnership has developed a suite of new tools to guide countries towards achieving the Paris Climate targets and the Sustainable Development Goals. Its Global Roadmap of Action toward Sustainable Mobility (GRA), which integrates climate change and pandemic risks, enables countries to measure their performance and shape an action plan toward reaching their emission reduction ambitions. Using South Africa as a case study, this session will cover ways the private sector can engage with developing countries to offer sustainable and innovative mobility solutions, and what the immense benefits of doing so are.
- Learn how the GRA can transform the conversation with countries on transport and mobility solutions.
- Understand how, and contribute to the ways, the private sector can support and benefit from the implementation of the GRA’s action plan in developing countries.
- Expand the perspective of corporate companies on the sustainable mobility conversation in the global south to influence corporate strategic thinking ahead of COP27.
